Emergency Scenarios

The system handles multiple threat scenarios with different automated responses.

Scenario A: Unauthorized Exit Attempt

An individual carrying a baby tag approaches an emergency exit door. The tag's signal is detected by the exit reader. Since no staff authorization was given, all ward exits lock instantly. Alarm fires. CCTV captures the individual. Security responds within 90 seconds.

Scenario B: Tag Tamper or Removal

The ankle band incorporates a tamper-detection circuit. If the band is cut, stretched beyond tolerance, or the clasp is broken, an immediate tamper alarm activates at the nursing station — even if the tag is still within the ward boundaries.

Scenario C: Baby-Mother Separation

If the baby tag moves more than a defined distance from the paired mother's wristband without a clinical override from authorized nursing staff, a 'separation alert' is generated. Staff are notified to verify the situation before it escalates.

Scenario D: System Signal Loss

If a tag stops broadcasting due to battery depletion or RF jamming, a 'Tag Not Seen' alert fires after 30 seconds. A "last seen" location is provided to staff. The system operates on battery backup for full continuity during power outages.
